GREETINGS of LOVE to all!

We are glad to announce the holding of the 11th National PREX Convention on February 19, 20 & 21, 2010 at the Lagao Gymnasium, General Santos City, South Cotabato ( within the Diocese of Marbel,Cotabato).

We have been tasked to be the Convention Chaircouple, with Kuya Nato & Ate Joji Isidoro of Our Father Parish, Diocese of Novaliches, and Kuya Bebot & Ate Meme Haw of Sts. Peter & Paul Parish, Diocese of Marbel, as Assistant Chaircouples.

The Chosen theme of the Convention is:

"The Call to Social Transformation"
"You are the salt of the earth, you are the light of the world."
Mathew 5:13-14

The convention's overarching theme seeks to place under its umbrella relevant and contemporary social issues, and what the response of a Catholic should be. Social transformation is the conversion of the society into a community guided by love, in which the power of the resurrection is witnessed in righteousness, justice, liberty and wholeness according to God's plan. As PREX graduates we are called upon to be the "salt of the earth" and the "light of the world."

Among the invited speakers are Most Rev. Dinualdo D. Gutierrez, D.D., Bishop of Marbel, Most Rev. Precioso D. Cantillas, SDB, D.D., Bishop of Maasin, Most Rev. Fernando Capalla, D.D., Bishop of Davao, Most Rev. Luis Antonio G. Tagle, Bishop of Imus, Most Rev. Jose Colin M. Bagaporo, D.D., Auxiliary Bishop of Cotabato, Rev. Fr. Domingo Salonga and Rev. Fr. Ramon Ramos.

Food concessionaires will be set up outside the gym. Delegates may contact the organizing committee concerned (please see directory of Convention Organizing Team, hereto attached). Priests are exempted from the payment of the Convention Fee.

  3. Souvenir Program:

    • Commercial Advertisements - Commercial advertisements is P 5,000.00 - full page, P 3,000.00 - half page, P 2,000.00 - ¼ page and P 200.00 - line ads.

Please send your materials, (camera-ready layouts) not later than December 1, 2009. The advertising contract is enclosed for your easy reference or you may download the same from the prexnapps website www.prexnapps.org.

    • Proposed Social Transformation Exhibit: In lieu of the usual photo collage or music ministry contest, it is suggested that an exhibit of best practices of social transformation be held as a sidelight of the Convention. The Exhibit seeks to complement talks of the speakers by providing the praxis side of what the speakers said in their talks. The exhibit would be the best proof of what has been done or what can be done in the concrete out there in the world. It could provide insights as well as inspiration to the participants on how they, too, can be agents of social transformation in their respective communities. Guidelines of the exhibit, when finalized, shall be posted in the prexnapps website.

The Lord has indeed led us to GENSAN, the "Tuna Capital of the Philippines", the "Home of the Pambansang Kamao Manny "Pacman" Pacquiao and St. Paul's vision of evangelization. Many of us may feel that we are going into an uncharted world. But as our beloved Msgr. Fidelis Limcaco, our outspoken Chairman of the Board, repeatedly reminded us of God's words, "Be not afraid", "Go, and make disciples of all nations. Baptize them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teach them to observe the commands I gave you. I am with you always until the end of this world". (Matt. 28:19-20).

So, mga kuya at mga ate, see you in Gensan. As they say over there, "MAAYONG GENSAN kaninyong tanan!"

Yours in the Blessed Trinity,

(Signed)
